About Our Program

Fall 2020 Considerations (6) Fall 2020 Considerations (7) Fall 2020 Considerations (8)

We could not be more thrilled to have seen the kids out playing last week. We wanted to share some important information and updates, primarily with respect to the objectives of this program and the organization of Saturday game play.

3-8th Intramural Soccer Objectives

  • This is a participation-first focused program, every player is welcome
  • The main objective is to provide players an opportunity for fun and exercise in soccer, two times per week (one clinic, one game play session)
  • We are aiming for this program to be convenient, affordable and low stress for all

Clinic Reminders

  • We have a wide range of ages and experience in the group
  • Coaches are going to do their best to organize play each week by ability, sometimes by gender, but sometimes coed
  • For the most part clinics are for practicing and learning new skills

Saturday Game Play Reminders

  • We are going to continue to evolve the game play sessions each week based on learnings about the group
  • Goal is to organize some games by ability as best we can to make for fun and competitive games
  • These games will be small sided (5x5, 7x7 and maybe 9x9) based on the number of players in attendance
  • The first 15 mins after arrival will be a warm up and sorting of teams
  • The next 60 mins will consist of game play with appropriate breaks for water/rest
  • We would appreciate if all could limit attendance to one spectator per player, Allen’s Meadows is busy at this time of day and we are seeking to maintain social distances and safety for benefit of all

Field Locations for Saturday Games

  • All registered players should report to Allen’s 3 (next to baseball field) and meet Coaches [X and Y]
  • Some portion of the group may move to Allen’s 4 (field closest to Olmstead) for their game play session
  • Boys 06/07 Players should report to Allen’s 1 (field closest field to Rt 7) and meet Coach [X]
  • Some players may shift to Boys 06-07 game based on needs to fill out games and ability

Uniforms / Attire

  • Uniforms are not included as part of the registration fees (they are for K - 2 intramurals)
  • For Saturday sessions, players should wear WSA jerseys and bring a yellow pinnie (can be ordered HERE)
  • If you prefer not to order these or are still waiting for your order to arrive, players may wear any blue shirt and bring a white color shirt as alternative
  • Pinnies or white shirt will allow coaches to split up the teams clearly
  • For clinics (Tuesdays) any soccer appropriate attire is allowed
  • All players must wear soccer socks over shin guards and bring their own ball and water for both Saturday and Tuesday sessions.

Volunteer Support

We have heard from several parents that they have not received the email updates that have gone out. In working with some parents they were able to find our emails still unread in various folders and filters. Please search your inboxes and filters. If you still cannot find communication from us please email [email protected] to confirm we have the right email for you. In addition to emails we are working on sharing communication via other channels.

We’ve also received feedback from some parents about confusion between the two intramural programs. We hope that this message has clarified any questions you have. Please reach out to [email protected] with any additional questions.
